Large Chinese plate depicting peonies and a bird in cloisonne technique. 1980s. This vintage plate in blue and green will add elegance to your interior. A subtle oriental ornament, inherent only in the cloisone technique, in combination with colorful enamel, gives objects a special charm and nobility! The French term “cloisone” means “placed in a cell” and refers to partitions made of copper wire that are soldered to a metallic background to separate areas of enamel of different colors. The cells are filled with enamel and burned, sometimes several times, as the enamel is compressed.
