The seat is upholstered in Echizen woven velvet with an oil-finished surface. Its deep luster and soft, almost adhesive texture gradually develop more character through use. The oil finish enhances the unique shadows and depth of the velvet, allowing the appearance to shift gently depending on the angle of light. The circular seat takes inspiration from the Zen concept of “Enso” — a complete circle without beginning or end. Rather than strongly asserting itself, the stool was designed to hold a quiet but undeniable presence, functioning both as a chair and as an object within a space. The legs are crafted from cedar wood sourced in Fukui Prefecture, Japan. Their slim and simple silhouette contrasts with the softness of the velvet, creating a balanced sense of tension throughout the piece.
