Today, I'd like to share this special "Flattened Teapot" with you all. 🙂
Its pleasingly flat form is both stable and calming, growing more intriguing the longer you look at it. The natural hues left by the wood-firing process make each piece utterly unique.
Brewing tea with it feels like time itself slows down. Sometimes, a beautiful teapot is the best companion for daily life.
👉 I'm curious, if this teapot were in your home, what tea would you choose to brew first?
Capacity: 140cc
The spout pours cleanly, without drips or hesitation. There's a satisfying fluidity when pouring tea. This is a teapot designed to accompany you through life.

Life's beauty begins with a beautiful teapot.
In the 2023 5th Shanghai International Wood Fired Ceramics Competition, both artists from Xiao Ping Fan Pottery Studio, Chen Shiping and Wang Yufan, had their works selected for excellence awards. Your support is our motivation to continue creating.

The works from Xiao Ping Fan Pottery Studio do not pursue mass production. Each creation possesses a unique concept and design, imbuing the purely hand-built or wheel-thrown process with life. Every piece is one-of-a-kind. Our studio's works are created by my husband and me, hence the signatures "Ping" or "Fan." Some pieces also feature the "Xiao Ping Fan Pottery Studio" seal, making them truly unique!!

**1. What is the origin of the works?**
We primarily use American clay, Japanese clay, and Taiwanese Miaoli clay for our creations.

**2. What is the wood-firing process?**
American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay are mixed in different proportions. The creation process involves purely hand-building (not on a pottery wheel) to gradually form the shape. After basic shaping, the lines of the body are refined, then polished to complete the greenware.
Once placed in the kiln, the wood-firing process using natural longan and acacia wood lasts for five days and four nights without interruption. The temperature reaches over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the works, forming a special ash glaze. Simultaneously, the kiln's flames flow among the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple flame patterns.
After five days and four nights of ash and flame interaction, the pieces require a week to cool before achieving their beautiful form! Due to the different kiln atmosphere during each wood-firing, the ash deposits and flame patterns on each piece can never be the same, ensuring that every work is unique!

**3. What should our esteemed guests note?**
Product colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. The works are purely handmade and will inevitably bear traces of the hand-building process. Minor variations may also occur during the firing process, such as slight irregularities in the rim or small production marks, which are considered normal and do not affect usability. Your understanding is greatly appreciated!
