**Ships within approximately 3 working days after order placement.** Hong Kong Coaster | Yuanqing Fang Zhuo While Hong Kong's manhole covers may not be as vibrant or ornate as those in Japan, they excel in functionality, with small covers containing a wealth of information. There are two common patterns on Hong Kong's drain covers: The square grid represents sewage drains, while the circular pattern signifies storm drains, hence the saying "Yuanqing Fang Zhuo" (round clear, square turbid). As for the arrow between "H↑K," it was a symbol of government materials during the British colonial era and has been in continuous use since. This coaster series not only captures the most iconic shapes and markings of the manhole covers but also challenges itself by adding the words "Hong Kong" in "Freedom Hong Kong Kai," a font created by Hongkongers. We've chosen a dark grey felt as the base, seamlessly complementing the cement's texture. The fiber layer helps absorb condensation from the bottom of cups, reducing slippage. The material has a slight elasticity, conforming to the tabletop and being friendly to various surfaces, while also helping to bear the weight of the small manhole cover. The packaging, in harmony with the cement material, is predominantly grey. Utilizing greyboard material with screen printing and a die-cut design for direct shaping, it achieves a minimalist yet stylish aesthetic. The all-paper packaging features an inner box also made of stacked greyboard. We've opted to forgo glue, using only elastic bands to secure the inner box, making it easy to disassemble and recycle. To this end, we've also included a small booklet that narrates the story of Yuanqing and Fang Zhuo.
