The works from P & F Ceramic Designs do not pursue mass production. Each creation possesses a unique concept and design, imbuing life into the pieces through pure hand-building or wheel-throwing processes. Every piece is one-of-a-kind. Our studio's works are created together by my husband and me, hence the signatures "Ping" or "Fan." Some pieces also bear the "P & F Ceramic Designs" seal. Truly unique!!

**1. What is the origin of the works?**
We primarily use American clay, Japanese clay, and Taiwanese Miaoli clay for our creations.

**2. What is the wood-firing process?**
We mix American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay in different proportions. The creation process involves pure hand-building (not on a pottery wheel) to slowly form the shape. After basic shaping, the body lines are refined, followed by polishing to complete the greenware.
Once placed in the kiln, the pieces undergo a five-day, four-night continuous wood-firing process using natural longan and acacia wood. The temperature reaches over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the works, forming a unique ash glaze. Simultaneously, the kiln's fire marks flow among the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple fire patterns.
After five days and four nights of ash and fire marks interacting, a week of cooling is required before a piece achieves its beautiful form! Because the kiln atmosphere differs with each firing, the ash glaze and fire marks on each piece are never the same, making every piece uniquely one-of-a-kind!

**3. What should our esteemed guests be aware of?**
Product colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. As the works are purely handmade, they will inevitably bear the traces of the making process. Minor variations may also occur due to the firing process, such as slight imperfections in the rim or minor production scratches. These are normal phenomena and do not affect usability. We appreciate your understanding!
