Dr. W. Y. Wan | Interpersonal Boundaries | Hong Kong & Macau Exclusive - Indie Press - Paper Black

Product Description

Author: Dr. W. Y. Wan Publisher: Bright Light Culture Size: 150mm x 210mm Pages: 224 ISBN: 978-988-8605-80-4 Book Description: Navigating relationships is an unavoidable aspect of life. While relationships enrich our existence, mishandling them can lead to significant hurt. Ideally, close interpersonal connections should feel comfortable and aspirational. Learning to balance appropriate care with respecting personal autonomy, avoiding smothering control, is a daily practice in building healthy relationships. Dr. W. Y. Wan, with over thirty years of experience in Christian clinical psychological counseling, offers insights into interpersonal boundaries in this book. She explores the theory of relational boundaries, deconstructs them from theological and psychological perspectives, and examines how unhealthy boundaries form, supported by case studies for easier comprehension. The author particularly addresses the often-overlooked emotional and spiritual needs of pastors and leaders involved in ministry. These individuals are sometimes perceived as incapable of, or forbidden from experiencing, spiritual retreats or emotional struggles. This book dedicates specific attention to the unique difficulties and challenges faced by clergy in maintaining healthy boundaries within their relationships and ministry. Boundaries are not about regulation or control; rather, they define the healthy positions of roles, expectations, desires, communication, respect, and reciprocity within relationships. Dr. Wan hopes this book will assist readers in establishing robust interpersonal boundaries. Author Biography: Dr. W. Y.
