Wire Frame Embroidery Brooch

Each piece is entirely handmade with embroidery. The design is an original arrangement based on the "Kogin-zashi" (Kogin embroidery) technique passed down in the Aomori Prefecture region of Japan. The patterns are formed by stitching the thread horizontally only, then layering these stitches vertically. By combining and arranging simple motifs like circles, dots, and lines, we create different, unique shapes. We used playful color combinations, such as incorporating red as an accent or using multiple colors, to achieve a cheerful look. The wire, which is bent and shaped individually, acts as a frame to highlight the embroidery. ・・・・・・ What is "Kogin-zashi"? It is an embroidery technique where threads are only stitched horizontally through the weave, counting the warp and weft threads of the fabric.
