The Nippon Traditional Colours series reproduces these traditional colours in everyday objects. Reproducing Traditional Colours Using the Lacquering Technique: The "Nuri" process is used to reproduce the traditional colours, in which craftsmen carefully finish each product individually. BPA free: BPA is called Bisphenol A and is a plastic stabiliser. Its use is regulated in Europe and the USA, and many people are sensitive to it. This product does not contain BPA. This makes it safer to use. Delivered in an original cosmetic box: The product is pre-packed in a traditional coloured cosmetic box to make it suitable as a gift. Traditional lacquered lunch box: The lacquer is applied by hand by craftsmen using the Yamanaka lacquerware technique, which has more than 400 years of history. The lacquering process uses advanced painting techniques to produce smoother and more vibrant colours. Lacquering is a nerve-wracking process because the lacquer changes subtly over time. Applying the paint at a consistent thickness is challenging, and machines are prone to colour irregularities. It takes experience and skill to reproduce all the same colours by hand.
