[Celadon Series] Celadon Shino Gold-Gilded Teapot | Capacity approx. 180cc - Teapots & Teacups - Pottery

Product Description

The Celadon Shino Gold-Gilded Teapot is crafted from select rock mineral clay. The body design emphasizes a unique silhouette and elegant, fluid lines, further enhanced by delicate gold gilding that adds a touch of noble texture, captivating at first sight. The clay body utilizes natural rock mineral pottery clay produced domestically, which contains trace elements different from ordinary pottery clay. When paired with various glazes, it fires into distinct color variations. The glaze used is Shino glaze, originating from Mino, Japan, a white glaze primarily composed of feldspar. Master Yu applies a specially formulated Shino glaze to the vessel, resulting in a finish that is warm, soft, and rich in depth after firing. The celadon hue achieved on the glazed surface reflects Master Yu’s years of experience in controlling firing temperature, duration, and reduction levels—warm and elegant, reminiscent of both jade and the sky after rain, echoing the aesthetics of Song Dynasty celadon. The interior Shino glaze, which comes into direct contact with tea during brewing, helps soften the water quality and smooths the mouthfeel of the tea. It produces a distinct 'soft water sensation,' stimulating the tea's aroma and enhancing its sweet, mellow profile. The smooth, glazed interior will naturally develop fine fissures over time with continuous use, forming a 'crackle' pattern like golden threads and iron wires. With daily brewing, tea colors will gradually seep into these lines; after about a month, the pattern becomes visible, and after two to three months, the color becomes more pronounced, allowing you to cultivate a unique tea patina. The final gilding process involves hand-painting with 24K liquid gold (genuine gold), followed by kiln firing. The golden luster is warm and understated, shimmering gracefully in the light. Works from yuhuayuart are dedicated to those who cherish details and appreciate the quality of life, making every tasting experience more than just a simple action, but a continuation of enjoyment and taste. Purchase Notes 1. Every piece from yuhuayuart is handmade by Master Yu, making each one unique—the very charm of handmade pottery. 2. Each piece is one-of-a-kind; once sold, no identical replica exists. If a piece you admire has already been sold, please feel free to message us to inquire about works with a similar style. 3. During the firing process, glazes flow naturally, and fine crackles may appear on the surface due to temperature changes; these are characteristics of kiln-fired works. If you have any questions, please feel free to message us. 4. Works are photographed in a studio to present their original colors as accurately as possible. Please rely on the actual product for precise color; slight variations in color are not considered defects. Maintenance Reminder | Gold-Gilded Works Gently wipe the gold layer with a soft cloth. Avoid scrubbing with scouring pads or stiff brushes, and do not soak for extended periods in detergents. Do not place in a microwave (metal will cause sparks) or dishwasher to prevent the gold layer from wearing or flaking. Artist | Master Yu Huayu Born in 1980, he was captivated by wheel-thrown pottery during junior high school. After completing his service, he moved north to Yingge and apprenticed under masters Wu Guorong and Wu Jiancai, dedicating over twenty years to ceramic creation. He has developed the Yohen Shino, Rock Mineral, and Purple Clay Cloud series, and successfully recreated the firing techniques of Song Dynasty celadon. Creative Philosophy Master Yu centers his work on kiln transformation, believing that every piece is a joint creation between the potter and the user across time. Every crack and every layer of color deepens with the user's daily life, becoming a vessel of true 'functional beauty.' This allows tea tasting to transcend a simple act, becoming a continuation of enjoyment and refined taste.
