Tetrad Handmade Wooden Tissue Box S | Reclaimed Wood Series | Light Hinoki

**Infusing Warmth into Your Space** Tissues play a significant role in daily life; we wanted to dress them in a respectable exterior. Moving away from traditional boxy, cubic shapes, we utilize bentwood technology to outline the elegant lines and proportions of the tissue box: the wide, steady base comfortably holds a full pack of tissues, while the slightly tapered top creates a visually light form. Paired with a waist-shaped opening, it feels as though you are drawing a sheet from between trees. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55223239449_56fb1d9021_b.jpg **Bentwood Craftsmanship** ▪︎ "Laminated bentwood craftsmanship" involves layering multiple sheets of solid wood veneer, placing them into a specialized mold, and using controlled pressure and temperature to bend the veneers into shape. The body of the Tetrad tissue box is molded from 6 layers of solid wood veneer, creating its warm and elegant curves. ▪︎ The dark version uses veneer planed from recycled Lauan wood, while the light version uses veneer planed from recycled Hinoki wood. Neither version mixes in other veneers or inexpensive materials. (For more details, please see the Reclaimed Wood Series description below.) ▪︎ Compared to cutting solid wood into shape, wood veneer lamination maximizes the use of our reclaimed old wood, serving as a tribute to resources and a friendly choice for the land. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55222991981_09c7bf94a8_b.jpg **Magnetic Base Cover** Easy to open and close, making refills effortless. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55223239359_9f79b8a9bd_b.jpg **Cloth Bag Packaging** Reusable, reducing the burden on the earth. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55223238809_9f055763cf_b.jpg **Materials and Treatment** ▪︎ The Reclaimed Wood Series uses door frames salvaged from demolished old houses as the source of material; surface marks are a normal phenomenon. ▪︎ The tissue box is finished with natural wood oil, providing the wood with additional protection. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55222091317_384e9339ab_b.jpg **Reclaimed Wood Series** "Satisfying future needs with existing resources." Under this core philosophy, META Design selects reclaimed wood as the material source for its bentwood products, providing a truly sustainable choice without the need for new timber. The Reclaimed Wood Series sources wood from door frames salvaged from old house demolitions. After complex processes including nail removal, paint stripping, patching, and soaking, the wood is planed by machines into 1mm thin veneers. Using the bentwood craftsmanship in which META specializes, these are crafted into exquisite wooden lighting and home decor products. Old houses used substantial materials; door frames often feature durable Lauan or precious Taiwan Hinoki. This is not only a respect for and appreciation of natural resources, but also a preservation of memories. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55222143597_4a17b06826_b.jpg Door frames salvaged during the demolition of old houses become the material source for the Reclaimed Wood Series. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55222202797_91c366f9dd_b.jpg Before being placed on the planing machine, the wood undergoes processes such as nail removal, paint stripping, patching, and soaking. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55222143587_c860cda905_b.jpg The machine's blade moves back and forth, planing the door frame into 1mm thick wood veneer. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55223045246_d5cb04799c_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55223291874_3b1c9bf656_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55223236464_c258337720_b.jpg **Product Specifications** Dimensions: Length 16.5 x Width 13 x Height 10.5cm Capacity: 100-150 sheets of tissue Materials: Hinoki veneer (body), MDF (base cover) Finish: German natural wood oil Origin: Taiwan **Usage and Care Instructions** Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
