The Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts received a donation of 216 artworks from artist Xu Yong-Jin in 2021. An exhibition, "Wild Brushstrokes, Mad Ink: Selections from the Xu Yong-Jin Donation," was held at the Museum of Calligraphy Art from July 16 to September 19, 2022. During the exhibition, this special publication was compiled to systematically present the 216 works, categorized into Traditional Calligraphy, Modern Calligraphy, Contemporary Calligraphy, Modern Ink Painting, and Beyond Calligraphy, with the intention of illustrating the artist's creative development and stylistic trajectory.
This book provides bilingual (Chinese and English) details on each artwork and significant events in the artist's career. It also includes two scholarly essays to deepen public understanding of Xu Yong-Jin's creations.
