Original vessels created by ceramic artist Morishita Shingo.
The lid was created by woodworker Yasushi Shimizu to fit the container.
With this combination, a new "lidded container" was created.
The piece I would like to introduce this time is one that has the feel of a suddenly opened flower.
The flower has a black body with whitish petals, and when you open the lid you see a bright blue dot in the center.
It is a generous and impressive dish.
The lid is designed to match the contours of the petals.
In the center of the lid, which fits snugly in place, is a knob designed to resemble a bud.
The key point is that the tip of the knob is starting to open slightly.
If you align the marks on the container and lid, they won't wobble.
As an object, as a vase...
So, what would you put here?
How do you use it?
■Material: Container/Ceramics
Lid: Zelkova, walnut
■Size: Diameter approx. 270mm, height approx. 230mm
*The lid has a ceramic finish. It is resistant to moisture, but if left unattended it may stain, so if moisture gets on it, wipe it off as soon as possible. Also, do not use a dish dryer, dry it in direct sunlight, or use a microwave, as these may cause cracks or warping.
Also, the lid is not airtight, so it is not suitable as a storage container for items that dislike moisture.
