Kiriko glass made by independent Kiriko glass artist Saito Hikaru.
We learned the secret techniques of hand polishing at an Edo Kiriko workshop that was founded over 100 years ago, and even though we consider the productivity and profitability of the technique low, we value the tradition and want to deliver authentic Kiriko to our users, so we also value the technique of hand polishing.
While respecting traditional designs, we aim to create interesting designs that ordinary Edo Kiriko craftsmen would not create, so we are sure you will find a great piece that strikes a chord with you.

I have designed 18 different types of rock glasses to date, and I feel that many of them are quite logical and mathematical, with precise cuts in both the vertical and horizontal directions.
So, in order to broaden the scope of my designs, I decided to create a piece that focuses on curves, and this is the design I came up with.
This is a wine glass that is suitable for cutting curves. I had previously made a mold for a "celebration wine glass," but then made some adjustments to see if I could fit it into a rocks glass.
Not only do wine glasses and rock glasses have different shapes, but the aspects that they showcase also differ.
In particular, when using rocks glasses, it is important to consider the transparency at the bottom so that you can see the color of the barrel-aged whiskey or tequila when drinking it straight or on the rocks.
I enjoy alcohol enough to have qualified as a tequila maestro (tequila sommelier), so I approach design from the user's perspective.
Many people enjoy the different colors of tequilas, such as blanco, reposado, and anejo, which are determined by the different aging periods, as well as the different colors produced by barrels, such as bourbon and sherry barrels.
So we adjusted it so that there was more of a transparent area at the bottom than there was with a wine glass.
The photo shows water filling the fabric so that you can see the transparency.
In terms of designing to improve quality, we are conscious of creating a product that feels good in the mouth and in the hand.
To improve the feel, we made five very deep cuts on the sides, which change the shape of the base.
We believe this gives the edge of the glass the comfortable feel that is unique to Kiriko glass when held.
The functionality that creates a sense of texture is what connects to the design, creating functional beauty.
Also, as you can see in the video, if you make a deep cut it will look more complex and will end up being quite beautiful.
There is also intricate detail around the mouth.
By rubbing it at an angle towards your mouth, it feels very smooth in your mouth.
This smooth texture has a different kind of feel to it than the trendy thin glass.
We would like you to drink water when you first use it, as I think the water will taste really good because of how smooth it is.
I have identified and considered in my own way the factors that humans consider to be good-tasting.
It has been created to meet three of those requirements, and I believe you will be very satisfied with the craftsmanship.
The traditional chrysanthemum pattern is cut into the area above the emblem in the center of the glass.
The chrysanthemum connection is one of the more difficult cuts among traditional patterns.
It represents longevity, good health, nobility, and integrity.
Not only is it beautiful to look at, it is also a pattern that contains auspicious meanings.
Additionally, some parts have been finished to resemble frosted glass, which makes them look beautiful.
We have adopted this matte finish in the design because it helps to express the luxury and elegance of the glass.
I have created many different designs, but this is one of my masterpieces and a personal favorite.
Consider buying them for yourself, as gifts, for Instagram, or to improve your store's brand image.
