Ceramics Museum-Ceramic Glaze Pharmacy

Teacher Fan Zhenjin has experimented with various glaze ingredients over the years and recorded his results in detail. He also applied his experience with glazes to the creation of ceramic prints. In order to preserve Mr. Fan’s valuable knowledge in the field of glazes over the years, the Ceramics Museum invited him to write "Ceramic Glazes", providing a professional glaze reference book for those who are interested in ceramic creation. This book received a great response from the library after its publication, and people from all walks of life still keep asking about it even though it has been out of print for many years. In order to encourage ceramic art creation and promote professional ceramic art knowledge, the Ceramics Museum has not only allocated a budget to reprint the book, but also completed the "Glaze Color Query System" in 2016 to build a database of Taiwan's traditional glaze colors through the Internet, providing users with multiple channels to learn ceramic art and boost Taiwan's ceramic art creation trend. It also actively promotes Taiwan's ceramic art creations on the international stage. In recent years, it has successively planned exhibitions such as the "Taiwan Painted Ceramic Art Exhibition" and the "Turning Leaves into Gold: Taiwan Tea Culture Exhibition", which have been exhibited in countries such as Germany, Spain and Hungary, further consolidating Taiwan's ceramic art's international status. I would like to use this preface to express my gratitude to Mr. Fan for his selfless generosity and pragmatic attitude. He is willing to compile his life-long experience and glaze theory into a book to guide more people to learn ceramic creation and strengthen the foundation of Taiwan's culture and art.
