The "Muyu Book" (Woodfish Book) was once a popular folk read and a libretto for traditional narrative singing arts like Nanyin and dragon boat songs. The "One Talent Gongs and Drums" ensemble introduces the "Let's Talk, Let's Sing: Nanyin Audiobooks" project, selecting and performing Muyu Book song texts, interpreting classic stories with Nanyin. Each volume features an introduction to the version, a synopsis, an analysis of selected excerpts, images of the original books, and the original Muyu song text with performance lyrics. We hope readers and listeners will delight in the multifaceted enjoyment of Nanyin through listening, singing, reading, and writing.
