*Ophiopogon planiscapus* 'Nana' (Black Mondo Grass) originates from China and the Korean Peninsula. In early spring, flower buds emerge with the new leaves, blooming into clusters of small white flowers that can last up to 30 days. The new leaves are miniature, transitioning from a subtle fragrance hue to green. Its unique leaf shape and distinctly red petioles make it highly recognizable, also known as 'Maple Leaf Grass' in Japan. After flowering, enjoy the lush greenery, with maple-like leaves of varying sizes scattered beautifully. The elegant lines of the red petioles bring a sense of vitality. Paired with Kagoshima pumice, it welcomes the refreshing green of summer. Japanese pumice is a natural stone with fine pores, offering excellent water retention. Collected from the coasts of Kagoshima, it's a volcanic rock treated with high-temperature boiling.
