Do you still write letters in your life?
[Time Capsule I] presents historical images of Sanxiu Garden from the 1990s. Located in Dapi, Yunlin, Sanxiu Garden is the only poet's garden from the Japanese colonial era in Taiwan that has been completely preserved. The flowing scenery of the garden captures the fleeting moments of poets and scholars from that time.
The images were photographed in the summer of 1991. By then, the old owner of Sanxiu Garden and the senior poets had long passed away, leaving behind only the pastoral landscape of the garden. Six selected photographs, printed on delicate and warm ivory paper, showcase historical images of the Zhang family residence, Huoran Bridge, Wanyuxian Bridge (a bridge made of tree roots), and Hexiu Pavilion in Sanxiu Garden. Holding these postcards in your hand, it feels as if the correspondence between poets and their mutual support in bygone years are brought back to life.
