The nib is a German Bock #250 (#6) two-tone steel nib, expertly hand-crafted by Lao Shanyao artisans into a calligraphy nib capable of producing lines of varying thickness, reminiscent of a brush pen. It offers a tactile writing experience, allowing for expressive Chinese characters with greater variation in stroke width, reflecting your unique taste. Should you wish to change the nib type or have it modified into a blade nib, please contact the designer privately to discuss confirmation. (Note: Changing nibs may incur different additional charges, potentially increasing or decreasing the price.)

Hand-adjusted Calligraphy Nib:
1. For calligraphy nibs, it is generally recommended to dip the nib in ink and use it for a period to allow for break-in before using a converter.
2. If you experience skipping with a converter, check your writing angle. Ensure both iridium dots simultaneously contact the paper; avoid writing with one side only. If skipping persists, check if paper fibers or debris are caught on the nib.
3. Remove the converter and try filling the ink using the piston method.
4. Clean the nib first. If you write with one iridium dot consistently, or apply excessive pressure, it can easily cause iridium dot misalignment, leading to uneven height differences, scratching the paper, and trapping debris in the nib slit.
5. The calligraphy nib is an EF nib modified to have a curved tip. The variation in line width is achieved not by pressing down, but by the angle of the pen holder, utilizing the nib's curvature to create different line thicknesses. Holding the pen more upright reduces the contact area between the nib and the paper, resulting in finer lines. The more oblique the writing angle, the larger the contact area, producing thicker lines. The ability to write both thick and thin lines depends on your proficiency and skill.
In support of environmental protection, we do not proactively provide paper bags. If a gift bag is required, please specify this in the order notes after purchase. Thank you.

Note: Regularly wipe and maintain the inside of the pen body and cap. When resting, do not store the nib pointing downwards for extended periods.
Warm Reminder: When writing, avoid pressing down on the nib or writing off-center (for right-handed users, it is recommended to hold the nib pointing towards the 10 or 11 o'clock position). This prevents accidental iridium dot misalignment, which can cause scratching and ink skipping. The nib should be rinsed with clean water regularly to prevent ink clogs that may affect writing quality.
