Artist: Kwood

Born in Hsinchu, Taiwan in 1983, with a background in craft design. He once wandered the streets of Japan, experiencing how wooden art infused old alleyways with warm, profound vitality. These objects, like fragments of time, carry the traces of history and the outlines of the future, seeking a delicate balance between contrast and harmony. They transform into intricate works, closely connecting the vision of the new generation with the simplicity of the old era. Agarwood, once ground into powder for appreciation, was solemnly placed in prominent areas of homes in Japan, symbolizing vitality and light.
Agarwood originates from its place of origin, pure and flawless, untouched by artificial processes like boiling glue, drawing lines, or adding fragrance oils. It presents itself in its most natural state. Using ancient scent-extraction techniques, the artist meticulously hand-peels the outer layers of the deadwood, revealing the true soul of the agarwood. This not only imbues it with eternal vitality but also subtly intertwines tradition and modern craftsmanship within the fingertips, creating a feast for the eyes and nose. Its rich aroma is like the condensation of time, gently drawing together memories of the past and aspirations for the future, allowing them to meet and resonate within the fragrance, creating an endless, distant, and profound experience.
