In the final days before his passing, Master Li Shutong, sensing his time was near, first finalized his will. Then, three days before his departure, he personally penned the four characters "悲欣交集" (Bēi Xīn Jiāo Jí), entrusting them to Dharma Master Miaolian. Three days later, Li Shutong passed away and entered Nirvana.
The Master's life journey mirrored the sentiment of his final inscription, "A Mix of Sorrow and Joy." The sorrow stemmed from compassion for the suffering of all beings, while the joy arose from his own liberation. He had lived a fulfilling life, finding contentment and leaving no regrets.
