Residing in Taiwan, they currently work from a cozy old apartment in Taipei, focusing on the creation of hand-carved stamps. Previously, Chamilgarden worked as an editor for magazines and books in publishing. Currently, their full-time endeavor is stamp design. Each season, they release handcrafted, original stamps. Their collected works, Volumes 1-8, feature over 100 unique stamps. Published books include: "A Handmade Life in 12 Hours a Week," "Rubber Stamps, Open the Door!", and "12 Lessons for Beginner Rubber Stamp Carving: Next Stamp Class." Primarily using erasers as the carving material, each stamp is slowly and deliberately crafted with every cut and line. Chamilgarden's stamp designs often integrate discoveries from daily life, landscapes and encounters during travels, and cherished objects and interests (such as text, flora, geometry, nature, architecture, etc.). These elements are then deconstructed and reassembled, employing intricate layering of lines and planes, complemented by minimalist primary and secondary lines, foreign characters, and meticulously chosen symbols, to construct the visual narrative of the stamp. They enjoy combining stamps and colors, orchestrating solos and collaborations among stamps of varying sizes, and exploring repetition. Many graphic designs are also derived from fragments of these stamps, extending into designs (like postcards and washi tape) through the art of stamping and combination.
