Bodhi Mind | Natural Bodhi Root 108 Beads +♡+⋆
Bodhi Rosary Bracelet

The 108 beads on this hand-held mala symbolize the dispelling of 108 earthly desires, leading to inner peace and a state of detachment. This is why many Buddhist practitioners choose this number for their bodhi seed mala beads. Furthermore, "108" also represents the sum of celestial and terrestrial spirits in Taoist culture, and wearing it signifies protection.
Commonly, the 108 earthly desires are explained as follows: The six senses (eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind) each experience three types of feelings—suffering, pleasure, and neutrality—totaling 18. Each of the six senses also has three states: liking, disliking, and indifference, totaling another 18. Combined, these reach 36. Multiplying this by the three realms of past, present, and future yields 108 earthly desires.

Bodhi root comes from the seeds of the Buri palm. Its surface is rough and patterned, while its interior is hollow and white. Each bead is crafted through manual dry grinding. Our shop uses naturally multi-colored bodhi root, with each batch varying in pattern and depth of color.
The bodhi root mala is ready to be played with upon arrival. As bodhi root is a plant seed, our palms secrete oils. To achieve a polished patina on the bodhi beads, frequently handle them with your hands; they will gradually become more lustrous and smooth. You can loop the bracelet around your finger or make a figure-eight motion for various playful interactions. Wash your hands thoroughly before handling. Play with them for a few days, then rest them for two days before resuming to enhance their smoothness. Bodhi root is a seed, so please avoid contact with water. Exposure to water can cause swelling, leading to cracking or peeling, which damages the beads. If they lightly touch water, dry them immediately. Avoid prolonged exposure of bodhi root to direct sunlight. Sudden temperature changes or prolonged exposure to the natural environment can cause cracks or peeling on the surface of the bodhi beads.
