Residing in Taiwan, she works diligently in an old apartment in Taipei, dedicating her life to making and designing stamps. Formerly an editor for magazines and books in the publishing industry, she now focuses entirely on stamp design. Each season, she releases handmade original creation stamps. Her collected works, volumes 1-8, feature over 100 stamps. Her published books include: "Handmade Life in 12 Hours a Week," "Rubber Stamps, Open the Door!", and "12 Lessons for Beginner Rubber Stampers: Next Stamp Class." Using erasers as her primary carving material, each stamp is slowly and carefully carved, stroke by stroke. Her stamp designs often draw inspiration from everyday discoveries, scenery encountered during travels, and things she cherishes—such as text, flowers, geometry, nature, and architecture. She then combines and deconstructs these elements, employing multi-point line and surface intersections, minimalist main and secondary lines, foreign text, and everyday symbols to construct her stamp imagery. Chamil enjoys pairing stamps and colors, creating unique compositions through the interplay of large and small stamps, in solo or collaborative arrangements, and through repetition. Many of her graphic designs are also derived from snippets of her stamps, extended through printing and pairing techniques (e.g., for postcards/washi tape).
