After being shaped into a generously sized bowl, suitable for abundant soups and stews, it was fired with a split application of a glossy white glaze and a nuanced blue glaze. The two glazes overlap and flow, creating an intriguing color palette that appears to be divided into three distinct layers. With its considerable depth and size, this bowl is highly recommended for your culinary creations. As mentioned, it's ideal for hearty soups and stews, as well as small portions of noodles or cereal. The creation process involves preparing the clay, shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, all meticulously done by hand using a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel in my home studio. While mass production is not possible, each piece possesses its own unique character, offering a distinct charm that comes from being handmade. The item you receive will be the same as pictured, and there are currently two pieces available. As each bowl has subtle variations in size and form, photographs of both pieces are included at the end of the product images. While stock lasts, you are welcome to choose your preferred piece by indicating your preference at the time of purchase. To ensure your table surfaces are protected, the base of each bowl has been smoothed with sandpaper. I continuously explore various glazes and clays, seeking the best combinations to create ceramics in a diverse range of colors and shapes. Each piece is unique, appearing similar yet distinct, as exact replication is impossible. It would bring me great joy if you could find a piece that resonates with you. Therefore, all our ceramic pieces undergo a waterproofing treatment with a food-safe sealant before shipping, eliminating the need for initial soaking (me-boshi). This waterproofing process requires 2-3 days, hence our shipping timeframe of 5 days from order placement. If you do not require the waterproofing treatment, please inform us at the time of purchase. - Cutlery shown in the product images is not included. - Product images are taken and edited to be as true to the actual item as possible. However, colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions.
