Chrysocolla (Azurite), also known as "stone blue," is a copper-containing mineral with a deep or light blue color and a glassy luster. However, due to its low hardness (3.5-4), it has rarely been used as a gemstone since ancient times. Instead, it was often ground into powder for pigments or used as decorative material for buildings and furniture inlay. Blue gemstones are inherently rare in nature. Therefore, the blue of Chrysocolla is not only rare and beautiful but is also named after blue in various languages (Greek: kuanos, Latin: caeruleum, English: azurite).
