This is a four-strand bracelet crafted from antique peacock blue seed beads and gold-red white heart beads.
The peacock blue beads are old Indian seed beads, their worn texture offering a unique charm that speaks of years of wear (circa 19th-20th century). Their lustrous, irregular shapes and subtle color variations are captivating.
(Seed bead size: 2-2.5mm)
The deep red beads are antique "white heart" beads, named for their white core. These Venetian beads date from the 19th-20th century. Their rich red hue is achieved through the use of gold, making them a rare "gold-red white heart" variety.
The clasp features a rare, slightly purplish gold-red white heart bead.
The golden beads are old Oriya brass, rare beads sourced from the state of Orissa in India.
Each tiny Karen silver bead on the clasp is individually stamped!
The thought of this meticulous handcrafting is truly humbling.
◇ Karen Silver ◇
This silver is crafted by a hill tribe living in Thailand and Burma.
Each piece is handmade and said to be of very high purity.
The clasp incorporates a shell bead, similar to those used in traditional ethnic necklaces, lending an authentic touch to this bracelet.
(Shell bead diameter: 1.4cm)
The bracelet is strung on waxed cord, which may feel slightly stiff initially but will become supple with wear.
