These tenugui towels feature motifs of creatures that live in the forests of the Yaeyama Islands. They feature a wide variety of unique creatures, including the Iriomote wildcat, which lives only on Iriomote Island, the Ryukyu kingfisher, and coconut crabs. Each piece is hand-dyed by artisans using a technique called chusen dyeing, which results in bleeding and unevenness in the color, giving it a unique texture. The material is 100% high-quality cotton that is gentle on the skin. It is highly absorbent, and the more you use it, the softer it becomes, becoming more comfortable against the skin.
