Pottery, handmade, hand-painted, one-of-a-kind
Diameter (maximum) 25cm Height 2.5cm
This is a slightly large irregular shaped plate with a design that conveyed the idea of traveling by sea and land together with gardens and trees.
The thick white clay is roughly cut freehand and the edges are raised.
The sides of the base material are hammered with a Stone that has a depression in it, giving it an intentionally uneven appearance.
The painting was done on top of a layer of white mud, so the areas where the white mud has peeled off and where lines have been scratched with nails are reminiscent of frescoes.
The surface is coated with a thin layer of transparent glaze, so it is not smooth and shiny, but rather has a slightly rough and matte feel.
This one is thick, heavy and feels sturdy.
*Unlike porcelain, pottery (earthenware) has a soft, warm ceramic surface.
Also, there may be pinholes (holes in the glaze) or small chips in the glaze which do not affect the use of the product, but we hope that you will consider these to be part of the unique character of earthenware and add to its charm.
This is the unique imperfect beauty, or charm, of earthenware.
Since pottery is made from clay, when you hold it in your hands it gives a more rustic impression than it does in pictures.
However, that's only at the beginning, and once you get used to it, you'll start to appreciate the quality of the real thing, its texture and simplicity.
*The color of the actual product may not be exactly the same as the image, depending on the device you are using.
I adjust images and list items on my PC, but they seem to look more vivid on my smartphone.
Recently, we have been trying to match the colors to those on smartphones, but please be aware that there may be differences in color between the image and the actual product.
