Turquoise
Also known as “松石” (Songshi) or “Turkish Stone” (French: turquoise, English: turquoise), turquoise is a hydrous copper aluminum phosphate mineral classified as a phosphate mineral. Its molecular formula is CuAl6(PO4)4(OH)8•4H2O. Typically formed through sedimentation by water, its colors range from blue and green to light green and pale yellow, with varying degrees of hardness. Blue turquoise is considered the most valuable and is often used in expensive jewelry.
