-Fun in Learning
The puzzle which looks like a children's game, uses the concept of area in the game.
Then transform it into the possibility of multiplying two numbers in algebra.
During the hands-on operation, players can discover the angle relationships of graphics,
and the final square is quite stunning. Through the fun in learning, we believe that kids will look at each individual in a different light when they learn mathematics in the future.
When faced with decimal operations, or even various number operations,
kids will not find them useless, but will take them seriously.

Step-by-step Instruction

This puzzle looks very similar to a tangram at first glance.
The biggest feature is that regardless of whether the small square is placed in or not
(refer to the difference between large pictures 1 and 2), the two completed squares seem to be the same size! (It just “seem to be”) Players can use a ruler to measure the completed puzzle.
The one using the small square is actually a rectangle, with one side slightly longer.
Why is there such a result?
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53560972693_85baa5fbff_c.jpg
Measuring the side length of the small square, it is easy to see the difference in area
between a rectangle and a square is actually the area of the small square.
In other words, the area of a rectangle is the area of a square plus the area
of a very thin rectangle.
Converting a very thin rectangle into a small square,
the visual difference is much different but the area is the same!
The illusion is no longer an illusion, but an appreciation of the transformation
between numbers and shapes.

First, observe the length and angle of each side of these puzzle pieces.
The orange kite shape has the longest side. Among the purple and blue isosceles
right triangles, the blue one is larger. The yellow one is trapezoid.
The pink one is a pentagon and the black one is a small square.
The side length of the small square is the same as one side of the trapezoid or pentagon.
It means that when the small square is placed, the trapezoid and pentagon
should be placed next to it.

Because the puzzle pieces with larger areas have to be placed first,
the orange kite shape will be placed first. In addition to having the longest side,
it also has a right angle that just fits into the corner of the square.
Next is the blue isosceles right triangle with the second largest area.
Its angles are complementary to the large angles of the kite shape
and can also be placed in the corners. Then, one of the angles of the purple
isosceles right triangle and the smaller angle of the kite shape can form a right angle.
There are two methods at this time. For the remaining two pieces, as long as you
identify the right angles of the trapezoid and the pentagon,
you can quickly find the answer with a little trial and error.

※Eco Friendly※
This product is made of leftover materials generated during
the processing of aerospace metal parts.
These scraps are not eliminated due to poor quality, but because the remaining
materials are too small to be used as large-area parts.
Usually, the remaining scraps are directly recycled and smelted. The smelting
process consumes a lot of energy and is not environmentally friendly.
Therefore, Metal Arts starts from the concept of environmental protection and sustainability.
Using these materials to design, retaining the processing traces and holes of
the components themselves, and turning the metal that could only be smelted away
into unique features of the product, Metal Arts turnes the leftover material
into creative products and giving it a new life!
