A time-honored local specialty from Yongkang Xishi, Tainan – the Fruit Pastry.
Traditionally, families welcoming a new child within the year would visit a temple with fruit pastries and the baby's clothing to offer blessings.
These pastries were then distributed to friends and family, sharing good fortune.
The original blessed pastries were plain, without filling, possessing only the simple taste of the dough.
Since our grandfather added candied orange peel and named it the "Fruit Pastry,"
it has been sixty years.
Upon taking over, the third generation adjusted the recipe to suit contemporary tastes
and incorporated the imagery of carrying pastries into the packaging, creating a truly unique gift.
The Fruit Pastry departs from the typical, rigid impression of traditional Chinese pastries.
The filling is based on sweet potato puree,
rather than the commonly seen red bean paste.
Different fruit purees and dried fruits are then added,
offering a light texture with reduced oil and sugar.
Enjoy at room temperature for a soft, melt-in-your-mouth experience.
When baked, the crust becomes slightly crisp, and the filling releases its fragrant aroma,
enhancing the delightful taste.

**Storage Instructions**
This product is freshly handmade without preservatives. Please store in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Refrigeration can extend freshness for up to approximately one month.
**Baking Suggestions**
Cut the fruit pastry into four equal pieces. Bake in an oven or air fryer at 230°C (446°F) for 2-3 minutes, or pan-fry in a dry skillet until the surface slightly changes color and a fragrant aroma is released. It is recommended to enjoy while warm after baking!
