[Gentle Reminders]
* Pure tin should still be kept away from strong acids and alkalis (such as bathroom cleaners) to prevent product degradation.
* Pure tin will slowly oxidize in the air, darkening in color (much slower than silver or copper). General wiping and maintenance are usually sufficient. You can also use "Muzai grass" (available at Chinese herbal medicine shops) to scrub the surface of tinware with soapy water for a lustrous finish. However, the oxidation cannot be completely removed. (This particular piece has localized lacquer and gold leaf application, so water washing and scrubbing are not recommended. Simple wiping is best. If water cleaning is necessary, ensure the item is dried thoroughly afterward, as water stains and oxidation can easily form).
* Due to the un-coated design of pure tin products, the surface color will naturally change and oxidize over time with use and handling. The workshop suggests handling the piece frequently for maintenance. Minor signs of age, unless causing significant deformation or functional damage, are part of its unique aesthetic (the transition from bright to dull is a normal oxidation phenomenon; frequent handling can allow natural oils to adhere, reducing oxidation). Please consider this before purchasing.
