The duette-component on the reverse of the brooch features a mark which reads "U.S. Pat. 2034129" and "Other Pat. Pend".
«Marcel Boucher was born in Paris in 1899. After obtaining his final diploma from the Bernard Palissy school of applied arts, he worked for Cartier initially in Paris and then in New York where he moved in 1925. In 1930 he was hired by Mazer Bros. where he remained until 1937. Boucher, who was living in Eltingville, Staten Island, New York, patented two mechanisms for Mazer, which permitted two separate clips to be joined, thus forming a single brooch (des. n° 2,032,907, 3гd March 1936 and des. n° 2,032,908)»
