During that period, the exterior walls of buildings were often set and laid with exotic Majolica faience that were imported from Japan. The continuous patterns spanning the peripherals of the buildings and the stunning perception of Art Nouveau made these tiles hard to be resisted. These floral tiles are no longer available, and old buildings are getting scarce. Quemolica is starting the process of collecting, categorizing and recording Majolica Tiles in Taiwan. We exploit and develop practical daily apparels by depicting and applying new color schemes to these delicate and fine patterns for a better annotation, thus turning these tiles to become valued collective items. QUEMOLICA is a compound word where "Quemoy" stands for (Kinmen) and "Majolica" stands for (Majolica Tiles). Our brand name in English is "QUEMOLICA."
