Damao ceramics-wheel throwing course
Wheel throwing is a ceramic technique with a long history. Use clay placed on a continuously rotating machine, and through centrifugal force and the interaction between your hands and the clay, you can create a shape that you approve of. We invite you every Thursday to put aside your daily worries and focus on the soil in your hands on the rotating windlass, producing unique works and adding a little bit of novelty to your life.

🌟 Course content and time/small class with 4 students
🌟Experience Course
(The experience course will produce 1-2 daily life utensils)
In this beginner's course, the teacher will lead you through the process from the introduction of clay, how to use the potter's wheel, how to center the pottery, to the stage of pulling and forming. Finally, 1-2 works will be produced.
Teaching content: The teacher teaches for about 30 minutes, and the rest of the time is for students to actually operate the machine for practice. This is a small class of four people, and the teacher will be by the side of the students to assist and guide.
The course fee includes the cost of baking 2 pieces of works and a takeaway dessert. The remaining works (regardless of size, the third piece will be charged)
If you want to fire it, you need to pay the firing fee [length x width x height x 0.27 x 3 (if the calculation is less than 30 yuan, it will be charged at 30 yuan)] (plain firing + glaze firing + glazing on behalf of the customer, so it is calculated as three times, and you can also make an appointment to glaze yourself)
🌟4 consecutive basic pottery pulling courses (consecutive courses will produce 4-8 daily life utensils)
Week 1 - Pulling instructions, centering exercises, straight tube pulling exercises (small teacup making)
Week 2 - Centering exercises, heightening and widthening exercises (mug/soup cup/bowl making)
Week 3 - Centering exercises, widening exercises (deep plate/wide-mouth basin making)
Week 4 - Finishing the work, practicing the rough cut, adding handles and decorations, and completing the work
*The course fee includes the cost of firing 8 pieces of works.
If other works need to be fired, they need to bear the firing fee length x width x height x 0.2 kiln fee

🌟Reminder before class
You are welcome to bring your own apron (you can also use the classroom)! Keeping your fingernails trimmed will help you create your work more easily. Due to the epidemic, we will wear masks throughout the whole process!
🌟Firing and collection
The firing time of the work is 45 working days (about 7 weeks). When the firing is completed, everyone will be notified to collect it, and the work will be kept for 90 days. If students are unable to pick up the items within the deadline, they can pay for the shipping fee and ask the classroom to assist in home delivery.
🌟How to apply for leave
All students who have successfully registered can change the time or exchange for 3 hours of free practice time, and no refund will be given.
Please notify us three days before the course if you wish to take leave.
🌟Epidemic prevention reminder
In order to cooperate with the government's epidemic prevention and safety, students are reminded that if they have relevant respiratory symptoms (cold, cough, sore throat, etc.) or have been in contact with suspected or confirmed patients of new coronary pneumonia, they should report and manage their health independently, and avoid coming to make pottery.
If your body temperature exceeds 37.5 degrees or you have respiratory symptoms on the day or within a week before the class, please rest at home or seek medical attention immediately. The course fee can be used to make up for other trial classes (no refund will be made).
The tables, chairs and other public areas have been disinfected in advance on site, so please feel free to come. Before class, students will register with their real names, have their forehead temperatures measured, and use alcohol hand disinfection.
The classes involve close contact and the teachers wear masks throughout the teaching. Students are also requested to wear masks throughout the entire process.
Please do not eat or drink except water during class.

This experience course includes the firing fee for 2 pieces of works (regardless of size, kiln firing fees will be charged starting from the third piece), bisque firing at 850 degrees Celsius/glaze firing at 1230 degrees Celsius.
If you use classroom painting pigments to paint your work, please use transparent glaze for coloring. If you need a teacher to color your work, you can only choose 2 glazes. The glazing method is random gradient up and down or left and right. You cannot specify the glazing area or ask the teacher to draw a pattern.
If substitute glazing cannot achieve the expected results, you are welcome to make an appointment to purchase our studio's glaze course after the course.
The shelf life of the completed works is three months after the firing is completed. We will not be responsible for the storage after the expiration of this period.
🌟 Course Work Burning Rules
During the firing period, the studio will try its best to assist students in completing the firing work. If force majeure factors such as breakage, cracking, embryo explosion, color deviation, kiln change, etc. occur during the firing period, the studio will compensate with 2 hours of self-study time. Sorry, the studio cannot refund the fee.
