France Le Pays de France Centenary World War I Illustrated Newspaper
Dimensions per piece: 36*30cm
Pages: 16
Le Pays de France was founded on May 10, 1914, originally as an official French publication for tourism promotion. However, with the outbreak of World War I, it ceased publication in July 1914. Two months after the war began, on November 12, 1914, it was revamped and reissued, becoming an illustrated newspaper specifically reporting on the French war situation across various regions during World War I. Consequently, as the war concluded, the publication ceased in 1919, with its final issue dated December 26, 1918. Existing for only a brief five-year period, its numbers are scarce. Given it pertains to World War I and has passed the century mark, it is a worthy collectible.
The content primarily reports on the French front during World War I, featuring a blend of images and text, along with some century-old maps. Each issue comprises multiple pages that can be individually framed for collection, offering considerable historical significance.
