Mug Cup: Gold & Silver Accented Crimson Camellia

This vessel is crafted from Shigaraki clay, shaped on a potter's wheel, and then meticulously hand-painted with crimson camellias, layer by layer, before being fired. It features an easy-to-grip handle and a smooth rim. The painting process considers the final glaze colors, mixed in our studio, alongside the natural hues of the flowers. Gold and silver accents add a touch of splendor to the camellias. The petals feature beautiful crackles, known as kanyū. The application of gold and silver is technically demanding, requiring careful control of temperature and humidity during the crafting process.
