KMZ OF-28T 2.8/28mm Lens In Casing For M39 LTM Mount F-21 KGB Spy Camera

KMZ plant, USSR SPECIAL RUSSIAN OF-28T 2.8/28mm LENS IN M39 (LTM) CASING USED WITH SOVIET KGB F-21T AJAKS (ZENIT MF-1) SPY CAMERA ABOUT ITEM'S ORIGIN (You can SKIP it!) The F-21 is a famous Soviet spy camera. This model became KGB standard and was in production at KMZ (Krasnogorsk Mechanical Factory) plant from 1951 to mid-1990's. This camera was designed and made with its special purpose, it is very small, light, can shoot the entire roll of film from one full wind of its spring motor-drive. Picture quality was, of course, very important as well, so the F-21 equipped with very sharp, high-resolution lens. You can see such lens at famous Horizon panoramic camera. Reasonably large frame size of 18x24 mm is also works for good image quality. So technically, using the 35mm terms, the F-21 is a half-frame camera. The F-21, as its name suggests, uses 21 mm film without perforation. This film is unavailable at stores, but can be produced from any 35 film using a 21 mm cutter, either self-made or ordered from some submini stores and sellers. ITEM'S CONDITION: USABLE, TESTED WITH TAKING PHOTOS I use Olympus cameras with Micro 4/3 lens mount and I survived two cases when my only zoom lens malfunctions. Since second case I have 2nd 28mm lens with me as spare lens with no any electronics inside. I prepared this OF-28T lens for my own use. Focusing and aperture are smooth, the lens is usable with different L39 adapters. If you will need the lens out of this casing you can disassemble it and to mount original aperture barrel. Optics is enough clean and provides nice images. I took some photos with focusing distance around 10 m, you can see examples at F2.8 & F8. Results looks nice but corners of the frame are bloor both at F2.8 and F8... even looks sharp at F16. Just the feature of this lens. All functions are available. Looks like standard (50mm equal) lens at my Micro 4/3 camera. * Single coated optics. * Aperture settings from 2.8 to 16. At presented lens you can install it aproximately according with depth of field case. * Focusing for F-21 camera: free. The lens was fixed at 5m distance. At f/5.6 depth-of-field is 2.44 m - Infinity * Focusing for presented lens is adjustable between 0.2 m and infinity. I placed distance scale made of paper, and added transparent adhesive ribbon to preserve it. * Lens mount: M39 (or LTM). The casing is home-made. I used broken collapsible Industar-22 lens to create this casing. Please be careful that real optical registration of L39 adapters can vary, thus you can need to adjust the adapter or to place new distance scale. * Dimensions: diameter 46 mm, length/heigth 17 mm (at infinity focus). * Weight: 63 gram without lens caps. * The lens was produced in USSR at KMZ plant at the town of Krasnogorsk.
