Keelung City Sphere Map Poster

This intricate drawing showcases Keelung's landmarks and busy harbor from a unique perspective. It took many months of visits and drawing time to complete. From the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains to the dense city center every aspect of Keelung is beautifully drawn. Look closely at the details and you'll see in the harbor a coastguard boat maneuvers while a large cruise ship is docked nearby while one of the city's black kites circles overhead. Onshore, people enjoy the harbor plaza, the seafood restaurants and the famous Miao Kou Night Market. On the hillsides various temples and the Zhupu Altar watch over the city while hidden in the trees nearby is a ruined historic mansion. With its dramatic landscape and my love of port towns I’ve wanted to draw this city for quite a while. However the extreme linearity of the urban area meant it didn’t really work as a regular bird’s eye map. After I started making the sphere perspective drawings I realized Keelung would work really well in this style.
