【Taipei Physical Class: My First Sewing Class】Sewing Machine Basic Introduction One-on-One - Knitting / Felted Wool / Cloth - Cotton

Workshop Description

Atelier Llewellyn's first one-on-one beginner sewing (machine) private lesson is here~ Since we opened our basic hand-sewing classes, many students have inquired about other courses, with sewing machine classes being a consistently popular request. As the designer handles everything from start to finish, my time is limited. Developing and preparing a course also requires meticulous consideration, demonstration, and revision, such as managing class duration and ensuring the appropriate difficulty level for projects. Although Atelier Llewellyn is not solely focused on teaching, my discerning approach means I want to offer courses that I genuinely love and that will be beneficial to students. Through the learning process of this course, you can experience that the fashion industry is not as glamorous as it might seem. To create a well-made garment or fabric product, why is the price high? You'll understand the effort and hidden costs involved once you experience it firsthand. Our core mission remains unchanged: we hope students will understand the birth of a garment through hands-on practice, leading them to make informed choices to purchase high-quality, finely crafted clothing that can last a long time, reducing excessive fast fashion consumption and environmental pollution. Change can start with ourselves. This introductory single-session course is designed for absolute beginners with no prior sewing machine experience but who are interested in a preliminary understanding. Participants will complete a small project during class, learning the basic principles and operation of a sewing machine, along with fundamental fabric ironing techniques. This course only involves straight-line stitching, making it a very beginner-friendly sewing machine operation. The instructor will also demonstrate and provide assistance. Students will complete one finished product in this class: a snap-frame coin purse. Dimensions/Approximately 7cm high (excluding top snap frame) x 9cm base width x 4cm base depth (Frame size: 8.5cm) **Note: The hardware selected by the designer is quite snug to prevent items from falling out. Once installed, it will require a second hand to assist in opening. Please consider carefully whether to register if you find this inconvenient.** Materials/Outer fabric: Liberty print cotton from a century-old British luxury department store OR print cotton from AGF (Art Gallery Fabrics) in the USA. Lining: Taiwanese cotton fabric. Use/Suitable for storing credit cards, business cards, coins, or small items like lip balm or lipstick. **Liberty Print Cotton from a Century-Old British Luxury Department Store** A https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52404373125_6299e44540_b.jpg B https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52404224859_0c12442296_b.jpg C https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52403430367_a28bbf7ae2_b.jpg D https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52404437553_09642c036e_b.jpg **AGF (Art Gallery Fabrics) Print Cotton from the USA** E https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52403430712_51f50cb6a7_b.jpg F https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52404437788_78cf7e17a1_b.jpg G https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52403430692_6eea92f1d9_b.jpg H https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52404224724_77e4342f9d_b.jpg Class Duration: Single session: 2.5 hours Practice and finished product material fee: $550 (to be paid in class) **Please note: Only 1 student per time slot; fabric patterns are style selections, not separate quotas.** **Please note: Only 1 student per time slot; fabric patterns are style selections, not separate quotas.** **Please note: Only 1 student per time slot; fabric patterns are style selections, not separate quotas.** *The pattern used in this class is proprietary to our studio and is provided for use only during the course.
