We've incorporated different structural elements of kimonos into our designs ( ́꒳`) It turns out kimonos are quite intricate and full of knowledge! I learned a lot of new things during the creation process~ Let me introduce this series to you in detail ♡ https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51322198455_d5153180f4_o_d.jpg ✦ The Bandana Collar Represents the Kimono (着物) ✦ Color selections differ for boys' and girls' styles~ Boys: Mostly darker colors (e.g., black, gray, navy blue, etc.) Girls: More vibrant colors and patterns ✦ The Bow Represents the Small Piece of Fabric Peeking from the Kimono's Obi ✦ That small piece of fabric has a specific Japanese term: 「 帯揚げ (obiage) 」 Obiage are mostly used with women's kimonos and come in a wide variety! Available in solid colors, patterns, and different styles, they add a lot of color to the kimono. ✦ The Fabric Band on the Bow Represents the Kimono's Obi ✦ The Japanese term for a kimono's obi is 「 帯 (obi) 」 Obi come in various patterns and colors, and there are many ways to tie them (・∀・) The tying method used in this creation is called 「 貝の口 (kainokuchi) 」 in Japanese. It's used for both men's and women's kimonos and is a relatively simple tying method. Despite being simple, the resulting look is beautiful and cute! In the design, the girls' style obi is slightly wider than the boys', and it's folded in the middle when tied.
