Crafted from a uniquely blended clay, this bowl embodies the rustic and subtly coarse texture characteristic of earthenware.
Shaped into a donburi bowl perfect for the cooler months, it is fired with a yamabuki (golden yellow) crystalline glaze that highlights its earthy appeal.
The rounded, plump form blends traditional Japanese aesthetics with an undeniable sense of charm, creating a truly endearing vessel.
Its generous depth allows you to enjoy two to three types of ingredients along with the broth during hot pot meals.
Beyond hot pots, it's also ideal for dishes with flavorful broths like agedashi tofu or Jibuni, as well as for serving rich potage soups.
Embracing its Japanese aesthetic, it can also be used to present traditional sweets such as warabi mochi or shiratama dango.
We invite you to explore its versatility with a wide array of culinary creations.
Each piece is meticulously handcrafted, from the initial clay preparation and shaping to the bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, utilizing a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel in my home studio.
While mass production is not possible, each item possesses its own unique character, offering the distinct charm that comes from artisanal craftsmanship.
The item you receive will be identical to those shown in the product images.
To ensure your table surfaces are protected, the base of each bowl is carefully sanded to a smooth finish.
Through experimentation with various glazes and clays, I continuously explore new combinations, creating a diverse range of pottery in both color and form.
Each piece is unique, appearing similar yet truly one-of-a-kind, as exact replication is impossible.
It brings me great joy when someone discovers a piece that truly resonates with them.
I hope you will find delight in the cozy atmosphere woven by the earthenware clay and glazes, adding a touch of warmth to your everyday life.

*Important Notes for Purchase and Use*
- Due to the porous nature of pottery, it may absorb liquids, potentially leading to glaze crazing discoloration or slight moisture seepage.
To address this, we apply a water-blocking treatment using a food-safe sealant before shipping, so no initial "seasoning" (medome) is required.
This treatment takes 2-3 days to complete, hence our shipping timeframe of 5 days from order placement.
If you prefer not to have this treatment applied, please notify us at the time of purchase.
- Cutlery shown in product images is not included.
- Product images are edited and photographed to be as true to the actual item as possible. However, colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions. We appreciate your understanding.
- As this item is also sold on other platforms, in the rare event of overlapping purchases, priority will be given to the customer who completes the checkout process first. We kindly ask for your understanding in this matter.
- While microwave (for gentle reheating) and dishwasher use is possible, the vibrations from microwaves and high-pressure hot water jets can potentially accelerate wear and tear. We recommend using these appliances sparingly.
- Please refrain from using this item in ovens or over open flames.
- After use, please wash thoroughly and ensure the item is completely dry before storing it in your cupboard or elsewhere to prevent stains and mold.
