mashu is the original brand of furoshiki from Kyoto's Baba Dyeing Factory. Established in Fushimi, Kyoto, in the second year of the Taisho era (1913), over a century later, all products are still hand-dyed one by one by artisans using the traditional katagami dyeing (型絵染) technique.
European pears with an autumnal charm, paired with vibrant and lively colors, illuminate the entire autumn season. When folded and used, the pear stems that appear from the edges invite curiosity about the overall pattern of the wrapping cloth.
