The "KESHIKI" series necklace depict seasonal natural scenery in mosaic-like champlevé enamel (glass glaze). The work shown here is designed with a view along a stream in spring, based on a combination of greenish enamels, with light blue accents in places, to evoke the image of a stream flowing through the fresh green trees. About champlevé enamel This enameling technique, which is said to have been used in ancient times for Celtic ornaments and was introduced to Byzantium, creates decorative patterns by firing glaze into depressions created by carving down the base metal. The contrast between the finely divided design of the base metal and the enamel creates a colorful and beautiful expression, a texture that can only be expressed through a sophisticated fusion of engraving techniques and enamel work.
