These small, gray, cookie-like pieces are real succulents! Some also call it "Sen-que" or "Jigong." Its unique appearance and color are particularly delightful, and caring for it is not difficult at all, making it a plant well worth having! The designer has paired it with a seashell-shaped cement planter, white stone top dressing, and a polar bear figurine for a touch of charm, creating a wonderfully calming display! Sedum morganianum, belonging to the Crassulaceae family, genus Kalanchoe, scientific name: Kalanchoe rhombopilosa, English name: Pies from Heaven. Native to Madagascar, in Taiwan, we've given it the fitting nickname "Chocolate Chips" due to its appearance – isn't it cute! The appearance of Sedum morganianum is quite distinctive: grayish-white leaves, fan-shaped, with small, painted-like brown spots at the tips. The more sun it receives, the more prominent these spots become. Each leaf is about 3 cm in size, and the mature plant can reach about 30 cm in height. Sedum morganianum grows very, very slowly, so slowly that you might sometimes wonder if it's growing at all. Over two years, it might grow about 10 cm taller and add 8-10 leaves, which is considered very healthy growth. Therefore, owning a Sedum morganianum allows you to slowly appreciate its beauty; don't rush its growth! 【Care Instructions】 Succulents of the Kalanchoe genus are not particularly difficult to grow. They prefer bright, sunny locations and do not have issues with summer heat in Taiwan; they will continue to grow well during this season. Overseas care instructions mention that Kalanchoe succulents are summer-dormant because they can survive well in temperatures below 35°C, and winters overseas can involve snow, making it difficult for Kalanchoe to survive (this refers to snowy winters). In Taiwan, we don't have to worry about sub-zero temperatures, so they grow well year-round. There's no need to restrict watering during any particular season; normal watering is sufficient. "Normal watering" means that in a well-ventilated, sunny environment, you can water it once a week, ensuring the entire pot's soil is moistened each time. In spring and autumn, you can provide a slow-release fertilizer to help the leaves become plumper. If you are growing it indoors with less sunlight and ventilation, we suggest using a bamboo skewer to check the soil; water only after the soil is completely dry, which might take 2-3 weeks, depending on the ventilation of your specific environment. | Propagation Methods | Sedum morganianum can be propagated using "top cutting" and "leaf propagation." Top cutting, as the name suggests, involves cutting off the top part of the plant to propagate.
