Cotton Linen Dress - Goldenrain Tree Fruit

From early September, I began collecting goldenrain tree leaves, fruits, and flowers. My desk was transformed into a goldenrain tree landscape. Each day, I would sketch a scene. The delicate yet profound warm tones are so fitting for this buttoned dress. I chose four types of embroidery thread: Yellow, orange, and brown, with a touch of green. These became the colors of the four-colored tree. When I took photos to document the process, the sunlight streamed in just right. This imbued the dress with so much warmth and imagery.
