A bowl elegantly depicted with crabs.
The subtle variations in color, reminiscent of ink wash painting, lend a deep, artistic quality, creating a piece that embodies the beauty of Japanese aesthetics.
This piece is crafted using Shigaraki clay, shaped on a potter's wheel, and meticulously finished with hand-painted crabs before being fired. The glaze, a unique iron glaze blended in our own studio, is applied with care. A single crab is painted on the inside. The moist glaze feels gentle and familiar in the hand, making it comfortable to hold with a smooth rim.
With its simple design and subdued colors, this versatile vessel enhances the presentation of any dish.
It can be widely used as a matcha bowl, a rice bowl, or for serving noodles and soups.
It is easy to care for and makes a delightful gift.
As you use it, you can enjoy the deepening character as fine cracks, known as 'kannyu', begin to appear over time.
Diameter 14.5cm, Height 7.5cm, Weight 310g
