Straps used by women were primarily for the headbands of their back baskets and to secure the warp beam around their waists during weaving, coordinating with leg movements to tension the warp threads for smooth weaving. Straps used by men were mostly for shoulder carrying, attached to men's back baskets and net bags, essential for general work and hunting. Another use was to tie them to the scabbard of a hunting knife and secure them at the waist for easy carrying.
