Ru ware, the foremost of the five great kilns of the Song Dynasty, is renowned for its lustrous, creamy glaze and refined, elegant aesthetic—a hallmark of Song Dynasty style. Ru porcelain is crafted with a balanced iron content and precise reduction firing, resulting in a subtle incense-gray body. The glaze shifts between sky blue and pale blue depending on the light, while the 'purple mouth' reveals a unique interplay between the body and glaze. The surface features large crackles interwoven with delicate, fish-scale patterns. As it is used over time, tea stains settle into these crackles, gradually revealing the texture and adding a rich, seasoned depth, creating a deepening connection between the porcelain and the user. This tea set is designed with a comfortable handle and spout for a smooth pour. The body is inspired by Ru ware glazes in either sky blue or moon white, featuring a lustrous, creamy texture that is elegant, soft, and exquisitely crafted.
