A-Ma Temple is the oldest existing temple in Macao with physical evidence, and it is also the oldest preserved original building in Macao’s cultural relics. The temple includes the "No. 1 Hall of the Holy Mountain", Zhengjue Zen Forest, Hongren Hall, Guanyin Pavilion and other buildings. In the early days, it was called Niangma Temple, Tianfei Temple or Haijue Temple; later it was named "Mazu Pavilion", and it was commonly known as "Ama Temple" to the Chinese.
